CLASSIC 1990 18′ SIMMONS SEA SKIFF built by Nelson Silva. Powered by a 30 HP Yamaha 2-stroke outboard with Oil Injection. This boat is great for fishing or just exploring. It is a real “head-turner” and always gets compliments wherever you go.
Boat is fiberglass finished with Awlgrip from waterline down and painted mahogany lapstrake from waterline up. Boat has running lights, Hummingbird Fishfinder, Rod holders, Anchor with chain and rode, lighted Richie compass, two 6.6 gallon Yamaha fuel tanks, and other equipment. Boat recently varnished with 15-17 coats of Epifanes varnish. Hull topsides and entire interior painted with Interlux Brightside Polyurethane Enamel. Extra props included. Shallow draft and very seaworthy.
Bateau makes a terrific Fast Skiff 17‘ plan that you can build of your own that is modeled off of the Simmons Sea Skiff.
Here are a few completed Bateau versions of their Fast Skiff 17′ built by normal people using the easy stick and glue method.
