Clay Morphis of Shallotte, N.C., caught a big prize, a 13-pound, 30.5-inch flounder, with the same lure he won the annual Capt. Rickey’s Trout Speck-tacular Tournament, both on Egret Baits’ new Rattling Vudu Shrimp.
The rattling Vudu Shrimp is the same soft plastic lure anglers have been catching speckled trout and redfish on for the past few years, with the addition of a small rattle that is inserted inside the body of the shrimp. The rattle adds a sound factor to the lure, which many anglers believe is essential to drawing strikes from fish.
The Egret Baits new rattling VuDu Shrimp version is a 3.5-inch model with a kangaroo-like belly pocket chamber designed to hold an internal rattle. The rattling VuDu Shrimp comes pre-rigged with a ¼-ounce weight for long, accurate casts. The internal rattle can also be removed for a silent presentation on skittish, spooked fish.
