The ACTION CRAFT boat company introduced a new model called the 2050 Gulf Coast Crossover or “GCX”.
Owner, Chad Kovarik, states “The bottom hull is based off the very popular 2020 bottom, with stringer and layup upgrades for strength, stability and ride comfort. The rest of the boat came from 4 years of research talking to customers at boat shows, ramps and tournaments, who owned Texas style boats being used in TX, LA, MS, AL and FL and then also talking to owner’s of monohull boats being used in the same 5 states.”
Kovarik adds, “We know this boat won’t fit everyone’s needs and it is virtually impossible to make everyone happy with one boat’s features but we did our best to address the reoccurring themes from the thousands of people we talked to over the years. A few of these items were shallow draft with a pocketed hull, wide beam and wide gunwales, finished surfaces on the deck in addition to a fully finished full boat liner, which is one of a kind on this length boat. This 2050 GCX has 4 livewells in total front and back and 3 of the 4 are insulated. There is tons of storage, seating for 5 comfortably and so on. ActionCraft tried to put the family touch in this 2050 GCX also.

- Wide beam
- Good draft (real draft) of less than 12 inches

- More seating for their family days
- Better visibility for sight fishing
- More beam (less tipsy feeling)
- Softer ride in chop
- More livewells for separate bait
- Draft (real draft) of 12 inches on a 20 foot boat
- Easier access to fuel tank
- Easier access to pumps, etc
- Transom pocket drive
What Florida style boat owners love about their boats:
- Love the Mono hull
- Love towers but most are aftermarket
- Love the wide walk around gunwales
