Here is a cool story! Jessica was pulling an all night fishing trip and decided to jump in for a quick swim in the morning and a quick scan for any lobster as season is underway…first thing she saw was this MONSTER 9.2 lbs. lobster…Jessica promptly invited this gorgeous specimen to dinner. Great job, Jessica!

Florida enjoy two lobster seasons where it is legal to harvest these gorgeous carribean crustraceans, cousins to the northern Maine Lobster. The first season is called mini-season where coastal areas of Florida are flooded with lobster hunters trying to get their share of this year’s bounty over a short 2 day weekend at the end of July. Natives usually avoid this as the boat traffic is ridiculously unsafe. Fortunately, Florida also offers a 8 month regular lobster season. The regular 8 month lobster season is always August 6 through March 31.
