Drop-in Skiff Consoles by Pelagic

Exciting news came out this week that a well known metal fabricator, Pelagic Fabrications, are now offering drop in flats helm towers for flats boats renovations and new builds. These cool skiff towers offer many attractive features with comfort and visibility at the top of the list.  Pelagic Fabrications is based out of Jacksonville, Florida but offering a freight service to ship these sweet towers anywhere.

In the world of Skiff building whether you have a skiff built professionally or are building your own skiff, the control/helm area is one of the most challenging to figure out. This is further complicated by the cost to have a custom tower built for your boat being extremely high. There is a tremendous amount of planning and then welding of anodized aluminium (one of the most difficult trades to master) to build a custom helm/console. Thousands of dollars are spent each year on custom skiff towers and console that end up not suiting the needs of the boat’s owner.

These pre-built helm mini towers come complete with upholstery, fiberglass control box, removable backrest, rod holders, cup holders, and rigging tubes for easy rigging.  As pictured they weigh a shockingly light 75 lbs.  Measurements are approximately 36” wide x 50” long, and 55” tall. The standing platform is 20” off the floor.  Again, these can but customized as well. 

Even better, this new option can be modified to fit your specific build and available in any color of powder coating or in anodized aluminum. The base model starts at $2400 plus shipping. Shipping is handled via freight on a wooden pallet.  Private delivery and pick-up is also available.
