This 1967 Willy Roberts came up on our social media discussion forum on Facebook and we felt it deserved a post on the website. This is a 1967 Willy Roberts that was restored about 10 years ago in Key Largo, FL by Paul Weiss. Paul is known for his canoes and back country kayaks. Lorie passed away, and it went to her daughter Leila. Leila lives in Italy, and will most likely stay in Europe. This is according to John Gallant who has been asked to sell the boat. John believes (not certain) that Lori bought it from its original owner. John replaced the lower unit a couple years ago, and refinished the teak. As of August 29, 2015 the boat is on the market for $13,500 with inquiries direct to John at (305) 587 – 3663.
The Skiff produced alot of discussion and appreciation for the classic look and a few more pics from people on the forum:
One of our favorite Instagram accounts to follow and discussion forum favorite contributor JR’s Customs of Islamorada had also done some teak work on her:
These boats are so beautiful they are being made new again by Jean Wiggins, Granddaughter of Willy Roberts. You can learn more about their skiffs here: http://willyflatsboats.com/
